Welcome to our school

Millthorpe Public School is the only school in the picturesque village of Millthorpe. The enrolment of approximately 250 students comes from families who live within the village and surrounding farms. The community is proud of its school and village with both noted for their beauty and historical significance. Engagement between staff, parents and the wider community is regarded as a vital component for our success and is highly valued by all.

Our vision is to ensure all students are successful learners who are confident, creative and well-informed citizens. We provide evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs implemented by quality teachers. Academic achievement and expectations are high in all aspects of school life with student achievement above national averages. Student wellbeing is a high priority, achieved through providing a safe, inclusive and engaging environment, appropriate to the student's stages of development. our school culture has placed a focus on indigenous education, community engagement, wellbeing and implementing the new curriculum.

A balance of academic, cultural and sporting opportunities are provided to students through our rich co-curricular initiatives. Millthorpe Public School provides opportunity for a range of enrichment activities such as music education, chess, debating, ballet and sport advancement. Our school provides Special Religious and Ethics Educations weekly. Before and After School Care with Aspire, a licensed provider, is available five days a week.

We offer a wide range of enrichment activities for our students, including debating, chess, school band, PSSA sports, Premiers spelling bee and Premiers reading challenge. Dance is available in our hall after hours with Miss Jasmin. Private music tuition is available on violin, piano, guitar, voice, drums, and group percussion. We have Scripture and Ethics programs for all grades.
