On Thursday 18th September 2014 the finals of Millthorpe's Got Talent were held in the school hall. There were six finalists who all provided a very entertaining show. It was a highly competetive field of contestants, ranging in acts from singing, dancing, gymnastics, a piano solo, a puppet show and even some magic tricks. In between the performances the crowd was entertained by some marvellous ads produced by Millthorpe Public School teachers.

The judges (Millthorpe Public School teachers) provided plenty of laughs dressing up as Kylie Minogue, Red Foo and Keith Urban. The finalists included Holly, (in kindergarten) who sang and danced performing 'Naughty' from Matilda the Musical.  Makeedi, Heidi, Georgina and Holly (in year 3) performed a perfect puppet show. Megan and Lily in year 2 presented a marvellous magic show and Gloria year 4 played the piano with style. Annabelle , Ruby (in year 5) and Paris (in year 6) presented a fantastic dance and gymnastics mega-show that had the audience mesmorised. Eleanor (in year 5) sang a beautiful rendition of 'Never Saw Blue' . It was this wonderful performance that won her first prize in the end.

Our Principal Mrs Jackett had this to say about the talent at Millthorpe Public School:

"I think Millthorpe students are AMAZING. The performers were very, very talented and the audience was really supportive and encouraging. Millthorpe students are incredible at their ability to help and support each other. I think the winner Eleanor Edwards has the potential to be an incredible singer - she already is!"

Miss Wilkin, the Millthorpe's Got Talent Producer had this to say:

"The talent that Millthorpe Public School students displayed this year was out of this world. It made the job of selecting the six finalists extremely difficult. Millthorpe's Got Talent is a wonderful opportunity for students to perform in front of a large audience to practise their stage manner. Well done to our winner Eleanor on her outstanding performance."

With talent this great, we can't wait for next year's show!
